He said that if the PESA rules are not in accordance with the Act, he will support the common people and the community and not the party. He clearly said that there are many shortcomings in the rules prepared for implementing PESA. Various communities are also raising this issue. He said in a warning tone that if there is no improvement in this, Congress may have to suffer losses.

Congress lost the last election badly in Chhattisgarh. PESA was implemented here in 2023. According to the information, it was told in the meeting that there too there was a mistake in making the rules and due to this mistake, the tribal voters moved away from Congress. In the previous elections, Congress had won 26 out of 29 seats, which later increased to 27.
After the meeting, Rameshwar Oraon while talking to the media said that we had presented our views in the meeting. It is a good thing that PESA law has been implemented, but its rules have not been followed. There are three things at the core of PESA law. First is Customary Law, second is protection of social and religious practice and third is tradition of land and resources. There is discussion about the third, but the first and second have not been followed. He said that we have not protested. The in-charge has been asked to improve, we hope there will be improvement in it.

When State President Keshav Kamlesh Mahato was asked on this matter, he said that people have to be made aware about the things that are being spread against the PESA rules implemented in Jharkhand. We have to reach out to the common people regarding MNREGA. The aim is to make people aware of the impact of efforts to erase Gandhiji’s name on the rural economy.
