MNREGA, which gives strong economy to the country at the village level itself, gives strength and progress to every hand. Coordinator of Bachao Sangram, Amit Jaiswal, was addressing the Congressmen and MNREGA workers of the district at the Collectorate. He said that by changing the name of Mahatma Gandhi NREGA and implementing Ji Ram Ji, the Modi government has grossly insulted Lord Shri Ram and Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Congress will not tolerate this at all and will go from village to village on this issue and will tell the general public and the MNREGA workers about the BJP’s conspiracy to weaken the poor farmers and laborers of the country and their collusion to strengthen the contractors and capitalists.

Former Uttar Pradesh Congress Secretary Amit Jaiswal said that ever since the BJP came to power, MNREGA, which prevents migration by providing work and economic progress to the poor at the village level, has become a victim of monkey-mongering by the BJP from the district to Delhi.

UP Congress PCC member Dr. Vijay Shankar Tiwari told that under the national program on the call of the central leadership and UP Congress President Honorable Shri Ajay Rai ji, under the leadership of coordinator of MNREGA Bachao Sangram, former secretary of UP Congress Amit Jaiswal, former candidate of Legislative Assembly Akbarpur, the Congressmen of Ambedkar Nagar district protested and observed a fast at the collectorate. The program was conducted by UP Congress Social Media General Secretary Sanjay Tiwari.

Addressing the protest, AICC member Sai Merajuddin Kichochhavi said that BJP has always insulted the great men of the country and by changing the name of MNREGA, they insulted not only Bapu but the entire nation. Congress District President Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the protest by Congress workers will continue till the village level until the name of MNREGA is changed.

The protest demonstration was addressed by Congress workers including UP Congress Social Media General Secretary Sanjay Tiwari, District Congress General Secretary Sheetala Prasad Srivastava Sonu, UP Congress Minority Cell Secretary Ziauddin Ansari, Youth Congress District President Hemant Yadav and Aditya Narayan Tiwari, former Block President. In view of the huge protest demonstration in Varanasi, dozens of Congress workers including District Congress Senior Vice President and PCC member Ghulam Rasool Chhotu, District Congress Spokesperson Awadhesh Kumar Mishra, House arrest has been done. All the speakers strongly condemned the house arrest of Congress workers and changing the name and basic form of MNREGA, while condemning the BJP and Modi government and terming it as an unforgivable crime towards the people, MNREGA workers.

Uttar Pradesh Kisan Congress Secretary Sanjay Yadav, Youth Congress Vice President Kadir Pathan, Ritesh Tripathi, Dheeraj Yadav, Shahdaun Ali, Mehboob Alam, Shailendra Yadav, Sohan Gupta, MNREGA laborers and women were prominently present in the program.
