NBEMS FET 2026: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the official notification for the NBEMS Fellowship Entrance Test (FET) 2025 on January 14, 2026. This examination will grant admission to various Fellow of National Board (FNB) courses for the 2025 session. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official NBEMS website. The application process started on January 14, 2026, at 5:00 PM and will continue until February 3, 2026.

Who can apply?
To apply for FET-2025, candidates must be citizens of India or an OCI cardholder of India. Foreign nationals can also apply for the FPIS course. Additionally, candidates must possess a recognized postgraduate degree, such as MD, MS, DM, MCh, DNB, or DRNB, for the selected fellowship.

Applicants must be registered with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council. This registration can be permanent or temporary and is mandatory to show at the time of admission/counseling. Furthermore, candidates must have obtained their degree or passing certificate on or before the cut-off date to be eligible to apply.

What is the stipend?
This fellowship offers a monthly stipend of approximately Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.25 lakh. The stipend amount may be subject to change as per NBEMS rules.

The training period will typically be 2 years and will be full-time. During this period, candidates will have the opportunity to learn through working in a hospital, attending classes, maintaining records (logbooks), and participating in periodic tests. After completing the training, a final examination will be conducted, and upon passing, a fellowship certificate will be awarded.

What is the exam pattern?
The NBEMS Fellowship Entrance Test will be computer-based and will have a duration of 1 hour and 45 minutes. The exam will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), the number of which may vary from approximately 100 to 120 depending on the subject. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks, while 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

The exam syllabus will be based on the relevant broad specialty and the chosen super-specialty. To be eligible for counseling, candidates must secure a minimum of the 50th percentile marks in their respective specialty.
