Gerwyn Price considers Luke Littler to be "levels above" everyone else in darts. The two are set to go head-to-head this Friday in the Bahrain Darts Masters as they reignite their rivalry.
Despite securing four Players Championship titles and the Poland Darts Masters in 2025, the Welshman's performance in the recent World Championship was underwhelming. He suffered a surprising 3-0 defeat by Wesley Plaisier in the second round of the major tournament. Price also fell at the semi-final hurdle in the Players Championships Finals, losing to Littler, who went on to dominate the World Championship.
The Nuke had an exceptional season last year, winning numerous major titles including the World Championship, the Grand Slam of Darts, the World Matchplay, the UK Open, the World Grand Prix and the Premier League title. His domination was evident to all spectators, and 'The Iceman' had some choice words for the 18-year-old.
Following his semi-final loss to Littler in the Players Championship Finals, Price posted on social media: "WOW that kid don't miss. Not at my best but threw everything I could at him tonight, I've played players at their best and Luke is levels above.
"Great for the game and great for keeps me practicing. On a plus I'm playing ok and the world just around the corner. Thanks all for the great support this weekend it's been a pleasure."
Price's comments reveal a deep respect for his young rival on the oche, clearly recognising the teenager's promising future in the sport.
In the final tournament of 2025, Littler defeated Darius Labanauskas, David Davies, Mensur Suljovic, Rob Cross, Krzysztof Ratajski, Ryan Searle and Gian van Veen, dropping only four sets out of a total of 36.
The darts prodigy is setting his sights on more silverware as he aims for "more titles" in his already impressive career. After lifting the trophy, Littler said: "It's very special. We've got to keep going, we've got to keep adding more titles. We can't stop here. We're still on this rollercoaster."
