In a humble move, Princess Catherine was spotted behind the wheel as she drove herself to a royal engagement at Windsor Castle on Thursday evening. Catherine, 44, who is Patron of the Rugby Football Union, hosted a reception at Windsor Castle for the national team to celebrate the team's first World Cup win since 2014.
A clip circulating on social media shows the Princess of Wales arriving at the entrance in a black car. As she stepped outside the vehicle, she was greeted by a man with an umbrella.
As she walked indoors, it was revealed that Catherine had been driving in high heels. The clip has since caught the attention of royal fans on social media. One wrote: "Wow, she drove herself!"
Another wrote: "So amazing she doesn't require people to drive her and can easily do it herself."
A third added: "I love it that she took that umbrella from him, and she carried it."
Finally, a fourth said: "Driving in stilettos - respect right there!"
The engagement on January 15 was held to mark the Red Roses' Rugby World Cup victory, with the team welcomed to Windsor Castle alongside the tournament trophy.
The princess is patron of the Rugby Football Union and followed the squad's campaign during the tournament.
England sealed the title with a 33-13 win over Canada in the final at Twickenham Stadium in front of a record crowd of 81,885.
For the occasion, Princess Catherine wore a bold red trouser suit by Alexander McQueen, a colour widely seen as a nod to the team's Red Roses nickname.
During the reception, the players posed for photographs with the princess and the trophy. As a sweet gesture, team captain Zoe Aldcroft also presented her with a shirt signed by members of the squad.
