US President Donald Trump has finally received the Nobel Peace Prize which was won by Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado. Machado has given his award medal to Trump. After the meeting at the White House, Trump praised the Venezuelan leader and said that ‘happy with my work, she has handed me her peace prize.’

Trump has happily accepted the Nobel Peace Prize. Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social that ‘She is an amazing woman, who has suffered a lot. He also said that Machado giving him his medal was ‘a very beautiful gesture of mutual respect’. A White House official told news agency Reuters that Trump intends to keep the Nobel Peace Prize medal.

Machado was not seen in public before her trip to Washington to present her Nobel to Trump. She visited Norway last month, where her daughter received the peace prize on her behalf. Before this, Machado had been hiding in Venezuela for 11 months. Opposition leader Maria Corina Machado in Venezuela has long been a victim of repression under the government of Nicolas Maduro. She was living in hiding to avoid Maduro’s action.
