The prince posted two photographs of the couple on Instagram to commemorate the occasion on Wednesday. One black-and-white image shows them in a close embrace behind the scenes at a polo match, a sport in which Prince Mateen competes competitively. The second photograph captures the couple relaxing on camping chairs in shallow river water.
Prince Mateen captioned the post simply with the number “2” followed by a red heart, a reference to their anniversary. The images quickly attracted congratulatory messages and well wishes from followers.
Now 35, Prince Mateen has represented Brunei at the SEA Games in 2017, 2019 and 2025, and was named one of Asia’s most eligible bachelors by Tatler magazine in 2016.
His wife, 32-year-old Yang Mulia Anisha Rosnah, is an entrepreneur in the cultural tourism sector and a graduate of the University of Bath in the U.K.
She has close ties to Brunei’s royal circle. Her grandfather, Pehin Dato Isa, served as a government adviser in the 1960s and 1970s, while her brother, Danial Deen Isa-Kalebic, is a longtime friend of the prince. Her sister-in-law, Janetira Attaskulchai Deen, is connected to Thailand’s Attaskulchai family, known for founding the Betagen yogurt brand.
The couple were married in Bandar Seri Begawan in January 2024 in a lavish 10-day celebration attended by around 5,000 guests, including international dignitaries, according to AFP.
In October last year, the pair announced that they are expecting their first child, though no details have been disclosed about the baby’s due date.
