The Hindi version of Prabhas starrer “The RajaSaab” has failed to find traction in North India, prompting exhibitors across the region to withdraw the film from several screens and replace its shows with better-performing titles.
Said a prominent film exhibitor of Bihar, Roshan Singh, “The RajaSaab has recorded shockingly low collections in Hindi. We had to cancel night shows for zero attendance and replace them with Dhurandhar and Laalo.”
“Dhurandhar” remains firmly entrenched as the current box-office leader, maintaining its dominance even as fresh releases line up. The film’s hold may be tested with the imminent arrival of Amir Khan’s “Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos”, a light-hearted entertainer that trade watchers expect to recalibrate audience traffic, particularly over the weekend, reports Bollywood Hungama.
For “The RajaSaab”, the commercial implications are severe. Trade projections suggest losses in the range of Rs 300-250 crore, positioning the film among the most severe Hindi-market underperformers of the year. The scale of underperformance has surprised even seasoned exhibitors, particularly given the film’s aggressive release strategy.
