Devotees of The Traitors reckon they've identified glaring hints that have been overlooked, as Rachel and Stephen appear to have made their 'biggest mistake'.
The current series of the popular BBC reality contest has been a rollercoaster ride of unexpected plot twists. To date, audiences have seentwo Traitors exposed.
This included the early expulsion of Hugo, swiftly followed by Secret Traitor Fiona. Her confrontation with Rachel in the kitchen, accusing her of being a Traitor in front of everyone, was one of the series' most dramatic moments, even raising questions about whether she had violated the Traitor oath.
However, this clash between Traitors seemed to strengthen the bond between Stephen and Rachel, who have since cautiously defended each other in front of the remaining Faithfuls.
They've also managed to weather Round Tables where they faced allegations, even after they eliminated Jesse, who couldn't muster support for her accusation against Stephen.
Now, viewers believe they've picked up on all the clear signs the Faithfuls have missed that could expose the remaining Traitors. One fan has pinpointed what could be Rachel and Stephen's biggest error, potentially jeopardising their chances of winning the game, reports Wales Online.
Writing on The Traitors UK subreddit, one sharp-eyed fan pointed out a vital piece of evidence that appeared to slip past the Faithfuls entirely. They explained: "Stephen murdering Jessie was a big clue that the Faithfuls completely missed. The logic for identifying Stephen as a Traitor in yesterday's episode is actually very simple. The day before Jessie called out Stephen at the Round Table, and said she would keep going for Stephen.
"She was then murdered. Either Stephen murdered her or the Traitors murdered her to frame Stephen. There is no other logical alternative, because if Stephen were faithful the Traitors would have kept Jessie in the game, since she was only focused on Stephen - unless they were framing him."
The Reddit user clarified that for a framing strategy to work, one of the Traitors would need to have driven the conversation about Stephen during the subsequent Round Table. Since this didn't happen, it indicates that "the murderer would in fact have to be Stephen."
Turning their attention to Rachel, the poster went on: "The Faithful know that Fiona was a Traitor who had no heat on her, who out of nowhere told everyone that "Rachel is a traitor" and effectively staked her place in the game on it. The only way the move made any logical sense at all, is if Fiona was a Faithful and incorrect in her convictions or BOTH Fiona and Rachel were Traitors.
"Fiona being found out to be a Traitor should have been a confirmation to the Faithfuls that Rachel was a traitor too. In fact, the Faithfuls passed over this very obvious Traitor on Traitor behaviour altogether."
Another viewer suggested Stephen and Rachel may have already committed a critical error that could derail their chances of reaching the finale. They commented: "Their biggest mistake is not having recruited. Don't get me wrong , I understand why they're not doing it. They trust each other and aren't stabbing themselves in the back. But the Faithfuls always think they're 3 or 4, it's going to be almost impossible to win together."
Yet other viewers defended the duo's approach as tactically sound, with one responding: "I think Fiona made them realise that outsiders cause drama."
A second viewer noted: "Recruiting has been the downfall of Traitors in the past. Rachel and Stephen have bonded now as traitors. A recruited traitor has only a single goal in mind - throw the OG traitors under the bus."
A third chimed in: "Yes, even the traitor wannabe Matt was saying it in the confessional. He has big plans.."
