The Masters snooker clash between Kyren Wilson and Wu Yize was briefly halted by a crowd member's mobile phone. At a tense point in the first frame, a piercing phone alarm started ringing around Alexandra Palace.
It chimed for the best part of 30 seconds before the referee told Wu, who was considering his next shot at the time, to pause. The Chinese star, seemingly unpeturbed, carried on applying chalk to his cue and assessing the table, while the phone was ongoing.
The referee then turned his back to the table and strutted to the fans, many of whom were pointing in the direction of the man with the phone. But after he was told the culpable crowd member had now left the Alexandra Palace hall, the furious ref made a passing remark which evoked giggles from the spectators.
When the mobile phone went off initially, he said: "Can you turn that phone off for me, please?" When it kept on ringing, clearly distracting Wu, he said: "Let's get this sorted first." He turned to the crowd and said: "Do we know whose it is? Oh he's gone now has he? Hopefully it's his uber."
The fans laughed in celebration before giving him a round of applause. In the end, it proved to have little impact on Wu, as he went on to win the frame. The Chinese star is one of the players to watch at Ally Pally.
He began by knocking out defending champion Shaun Murphy in emphatic fashion. Wu then followed it up with a dominant 6-0 victory over countryman Guodong Xiao. It's been an impressive showing considering he's making his debut in the Masters.
He's been turning heads with his ability to switch from right-hand to left-hand on the table, something rarely seen, even in the biggest competitions in the sport. However, he received a stern warning from Wilson before their clash.
The 2024 World Champion overcame Neil Robertson in a tense battle which went into a deciding frame. But after he showed his best form at the most important times, the Kettering player, when asked if he was at his best, said: "I would say so.
"I think that's kind of the sort of form that I've been used to showing probably over the past 18 months.
"By what's happened recently, you kind of forget it when you go a few tournaments without having it. It's great to have that flooding through the veins again."
