EXIM Bank has started the application process for the recruitment of 40 Management Trainee (Banking Operations) positions, for which graduates, MBA, and CA candidates can apply.
The Export-Import Bank of India (EXIM Bank) has announced its first major recruitment drive for young professionals in 2026. The bank has released an official notification for the recruitment of Management Trainee (Banking Operations) positions. This notification was issued on January 17, 2026, and the application process also began on the same day. A total of 40 positions will be filled through this recruitment. This is considered a golden opportunity for young people aspiring to build a career in the banking sector.
EXIM Bank is a leading financial institution in the country that provides banking services related to international trade. Therefore, candidates selected for the Management Trainee position will have the opportunity to start a strong career with a deep understanding of banking operations. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the official EXIM Bank website by February 1, 2026. No applications will be accepted after the last date.
Who can apply?
Only candidates who have completed a regular graduation from a recognised university or institution are eligible to apply for the EXIM Bank Management Trainee Recruitment 2026. The graduation should be a three-year program, and candidates must have secured at least 60 percent marks or an equivalent CGPA. This condition applies to candidates from the General, OBC, and EWS categories. Reserved category candidates may receive relaxation in marks as per the rules, details of which are provided in the official notification.
In addition, candidates who have completed an MBA, PGDBA, PGDBM, or MMS in subjects such as Finance, International Business, or Foreign Trade with 60 per cent marks or more are also eligible for this recruitment. Chartered Accountant (CA) candidates who are members of ICAI can also apply for the Management Trainee position.
Opportunity for Final Year Students
A special feature of this recruitment is that students in their final year of study are also given the opportunity to apply. Candidates who will be appearing for their final exams in January 2026 can also apply online. However, such candidates will be required to submit proof of completion and passing of their degree by June 1, 2026. If the certificate is not submitted by the stipulated time, the candidate's application may be cancelled.
It has also been clarified that degrees obtained through distance education, correspondence courses, or open learning will not be considered valid for this recruitment. Only candidates who have completed a regular and full-time course are eligible to apply.
What is the application fee?
The application fee for the EXIM Bank Management Trainee recruitment is determined according to the category. General and OBC candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs. 600. For Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Persons with Disabilities, EWS, and female candidates, the application fee is only Rs. 100. The fee must be paid online during the application process. Applications without fee payment will be considered incomplete.
What is the selection process?
The selection of candidates in this recruitment will be done in two stages. The first stage will be a written examination, and the second stage will be an interview. The written examination will be subjective in nature. There is no separate section-wise cut-off for this exam, which will provide some relief to the candidates.
The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination and the interview. The written examination will be given a weightage of 70 percent in the overall selection, while the interview will have a weightage of 30 percent. This means that good performance in both stages is essential.
Where will the exam and interview be held?
The written examination will be conducted in major cities across the country. These include Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Guwahati. Candidates will be able to choose their preferred examination centre while applying. The interviews will be conducted in Mumbai or New Delhi. Candidates will be informed of the interview date and time later via email or through the website.
