Dehradun. There has been a ban on making reels in Char Dham of Uttarakhand. To maintain decorum and sanctity of temples during Chardham Yatra, carrying of mobile phones has been banned in Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Uttarakhand government says that ban on carrying mobile phones will not lead to unnecessary disputes. Also, it will be possible for the devotees to have darshan of God with concentration.

According to the information, the decision to ban mobile phones was taken in the review meeting before this year’s Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand. This meeting was held under the chairmanship of Garhwal Division Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey. DMs and other officers of the districts associated with Chardham Yatra were also present in it. Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey told news agency ANI that in the last few years, during the Chardham Yatra, there have been many controversies due to mobile reels and vlogging. Such disputes affect the dignity of the Char Dham. Because of this, no one will be able to take mobile in Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath. There will be a ban on mobile phones beyond Singhdwar in Badrinath.

The Commissioner said that Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee and District Administration will make necessary arrangements to keep the mobile phones of the devotees who will come on Chardham Yatra safe. This is the first time that in order to maintain the sanctity of Char Dham, the government has banned carrying mobile phones there. Last year, during the Chardham Yatra, many incidents of reel making took place in Kedarnath and Badrinath. The reel makers were not even paying attention to the objections of the people associated with the temples. Because of this, many devotees had raised questions on social media also. Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey also said that like before, there will be 60 percent offline and 40 percent online registration for Chardham Yatra. To avoid jams, small shuttle buses will be installed. The highway near Brahmapuri post will also be widened. In the year 2025, more than 50 lakh devotees had participated in the Chardham Yatra.
