The issue of playing or not playing in T20 World Cup 2026 is related to Bangladesh Cricket Board. But, PCB is also not less interested in it. Quoting government sources in Pakistan, the media there has claimed that in view of the growing concerns about the Bangladesh cricket team, Pakistan will review its participation in the T20 World Cup 2026 to be held in India.
Bangladesh sought Pakistan's support - Sutra
It is being said that Bangladesh government has approached Pakistan for support on security issues, after which Pakistan has adopted that stance. According to Geo super TV report, Pakistan has emphasized that no country should face pressure or threats regarding hosting responsibilities and has assured Bangladesh of full support in this matter.
Pakistan is already interested in Bangladesh issue
By the way, even before this report came, Pakistan Cricket Board was very interested in the matter of Bangladesh. On January 11 itself, it had expressed its desire to host Bangladesh's matches in the T20 World Cup. Pakistan had expressed this desire after Bangladesh's decision to refuse to go to India due to security reasons. However, later news came quoting PCB sources that Pakistan had expressed its desire to host Bangladesh's matches not formally but on the condition of stadium not being available in Sri Lanka.
In the report, quoting PCB sources, it was written that all the stadiums of Pakistan are fully ready to host T20 World Cup matches. Behind this, he also argued for Pakistan's successful hosting of major ICC events including Champions Trophy 2025 and ICC Women's Qualifier.
