A shocking murder has come to light in Patna, the capital of Bihar, triggering panic among residents of a posh locality. A retired woman teacher was found brutally murdered inside her house in the AG Colony area under the Shastri Nagar Police Station limits.
The deceased has been identified as Madhavi Devi, a resident of house number C-71 in AG Colony. She lived alone following the death of her husband, Amarendra Kumar Das, a former officer in the Accountant General’s office, who passed away around six years ago. Madhavi Devi’s daughter reportedly visited her frequently to take care of her.
According to police, Madhavi Devi’s body was found lying inside the house in blood-soaked condition. Preliminary observations suggest that her throat was slit, indicating a brutal murder.
Police and Forensic ActionSecretariat SDPO-2 Saket Kumar said that police received information about a suspicious incident in AG Colony, following which a team from Shastri Nagar police station immediately reached the spot. A forensic science laboratory (FSL) team was also called to collect evidence from the crime scene.
Police officials stated that investigations are underway to determine whether the murder was committed with the intention of robbery or due to personal enmity.
Panic in the Area, Security Concerns RaisedResidents described Madhavi Devi as a quiet and well-mannered woman. The incident has caused fear and unease among locals, especially since AG Colony is considered one of the safer and more upscale residential areas of Patna.
Police are currently examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area and questioning neighbors as part of a detailed investigation. Further details are awaited as the probe continues.
