The Assam State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) has announced a bumper recruitment drive for the year 2026. Under this recruitment, a total of 2972 ​​posts will be filled in the Assam Police, Forest Department, and Fire Services. Importantly, candidates with 10th, 12th, and graduate degrees can apply for these positions.

Which Departments Will Be Recruiting?

This recruitment drive by SLPRB covers several departments. These include the Assam Police, Assam Forest Department, Assam Fire and Emergency Service, and AFPF (Assam Forest Protection Force). This recruitment is especially for young people who want to serve the state by wearing a uniform.

Which Posts Will Be Filled?

A total of 2972 ​​posts will be filled under this recruitment drive. The highest number of posts is for Constable (Grade-III), totaling 733.  In addition, 642 posts for Constable (WO/WT) and 504 posts for Forest Guard will be filled. 405 posts have been allocated for the AFPF Constable, while 337 posts will be filled for the Fireman. There are also 211 posts for Forester (Grade-I), 74 posts for Game Watcher, and 41 posts for Emergency Rescuer. Along with this, there are 11 posts for Bandsman, 10 posts for Kewat (Boatman), and 2 posts for Bugler. Additionally, one post each has been allocated for Constable (UB) and Sub-Officer. What are the eligibility requirements?

The educational qualifications for this recruitment vary depending on the post. For the Forester (Grade-I) position, candidates must be graduates from a recognized university. For technical positions such as Constable (WO/WT) and Sub-Officer, passing the 12th standard with Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) is mandatory. Candidates who have passed the 12th standard can apply for the Forest Guard, Game Watcher, and Constable (UB) positions. For positions like AFPF Constable, Bandsman, and Bugler, a 10th-grade pass is sufficient. Additionally, for the Boatman position, candidates must have good swimming skills.

Age Limit

The minimum age for applicants in this recruitment is generally 18 years. The maximum age will be determined according to the specific post. Reserved category candidates will be given age relaxation as per government rules.

Salary

Selected candidates will be paid under Pay Bands 1 and 2. The salary range will be from ₹12,000 to ₹70,000 per month. In addition, grade pay, dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and other government benefits will also be provided.
