A former finalist on The Traitors has predicted Stephen will triumph in the current series of the BBC programme - without fellow Traitor Rachel.

Wilf Webster served as a Traitor during the first series of the show, which is hosted by Claudia Winkleman, and captivated audiences with his cunning antics in the turret. He reached the final before being defeated by Faithfuls Hannah Byczkowski, Aaron Evans and Meryl Williams at the end.

He has been following the game's current series and believes Stephen is preparing to betray fellow Traitor Rachel and secure victory for himself, reports Wales Online.

He told Metro: "He's such a lovely person and we love him, but I think that's going to be the big shock factor."

So far Rachel has seemed to be controlling the gameplay, with audiences suggesting she ranks among the finest Traitors the programme has witnessed. She has also assisted in shielding Stephen, who has attracted scrutiny during recent Round Tables.

However, Wilf anticipated that Stephen might need some help to eliminate his fellow Traitor in pursuit of the prize.

"I think somebody else will and he will join on the bandwagon towards the end, like I did with Amanda (Lovett)," he said.

With the finale rapidly approaching, many fans of the programme have confessed they would prefer to witness the Traitors, rather than the Faithfuls, emerge victorious this time.

"Stephen and Rachel are a brilliant duo they so deserve to win," one person recently posted on X, formerly Twitter. Someone else agreed: "They've played absolute blinders."

"They're great at the game but don't have that same evil vibe that other Traitors have had," pointed out another viewer.

"Just playing the game incredibly well."

Another person posted: "I want Rachel and Stephen to win so bad. Not only are they extremely deserving given how well they've played and gotten themselves out of sticky situations but we've never had a TEAM of Traitors win before. It'd be a historic victory!"
