Greenlanders have said Donald Trump has "lost his mind" as they rage at his invasion threats. Calling the Americans "greedy" Greenlandic Politician Tillie Martinussen made her stance on Trump's quest to take over the terrority clear.

"We do not want to be rich like Americans. Look how greedy they are, even trying to invade their friends", said Ms Martinussen. Standing firm that the Greenland people "will not sell ourselves" the politician added that their "rights would be taken away" should the US succeed in their mission.

Ms Martinussen continued: "Even if there are minerals and oil under our land-and they are worth far more-we still would not sell ourselves."

She continued: "We know what happened to Indigenous people in Alaska and Native Americans. Their land was taken, and they were not treated well.

"We see who Trump surrounds himself with-white power people-and we are not white. We are people of color. We know our rights would likely be taken away."

A local Greenlander added that "Trump has lost his mind". He continued: "I think he lost his mind a month ago."

Insisiting Greenland "will fight until the end" and "never give in" another local compared the US President "to a spoiled child turned old".

He added: "And he thinks he can, he thinks can scare people. He can't scare Greenlanders."

Meanwhile, a female Greenlander said she "cannot imagine" Trump taking over her home. She said: "I cannot imagine that he can have Greenland and he can put pressure on, yes, but I hope really he won't succeed in it.

"But we don't know, nobody knows. I hope that the American people get their eyes opened to see this is not a good way to treat anybody."

Trump first floated buying Greenland during his first term and revived this idea during his 2024-2025 presidential campaign.

The US president is attempting to justify taking control of Greenland due to its strategic location, abundant mineral resources, and increasing Russian and Chinese military activity in the region.
