According to NITES, many candidates remained unemployed for six to eight months due to a lack of clear response from the company, which increased financial pressure and mental stress on them.

Over 250 selected candidates were denied jobs, leading to a complaint against IT company Wipro with the Labour Minister.

Complaint Against Wipro: NITES, an organization of employees in the information technology (IT) sector, on Monday filed a written complaint with Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, accusing Wipro Limited of not hiring more than 250 newly selected employees even after several months. According to NITES, these candidates were selected under the 'Turbo' and 'NextGen Talent Hiring' programs run by Wipro in various states of the country and were issued letters of intent in May 2025 with information related to the post, salary, and joining process.

Not called despite selection

In many cases, the company even sent formal onboarding emails, mentioning the joining date, work location, and documentation process, but despite completing all the requirements and background verification, the candidates were not called on time.

The organisation says candidates were left in the midst of prolonged uncertainty, generic answers and varying explanations, while many were unable to pursue other job opportunities due to campus placement rules, and some even turned down other job offers.

Complaint against Wipro

According to NITES, many candidates remained unemployed for six to eight months due to the lack of a clear response from the company, causing financial and mental stress. The organization has requested the central government's intervention to require Wipro to respond and provide all affected candidates with a clear joining date or written information, including the reason.

Additionally, the organization warned that if action is not taken in this matter, such practices could become commonplace in the IT industry, causing long-term harm to India's young workforce.
