Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot and built their family unit, but their distance from the royals back in the UK has continued to be a subject of contention. It's been six years since they decided to leave the UK life for one in the US in a move famously referred to as "Megxit", as they declared they wanted a private life, before taking on huge TV projects and the like overseas. Before Harry met Meghan, he dated a lot of different women in the UK, so as he continues to build his life in the US, where are his exes?
Before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were the known couple they are today, he had a long dating history of women from all walks of life. Unlike his brother, Prince William, Harry didn't have the same worries about dating, because he wasn't the heir to the throne, so he was able to have relationships with people who would have been deemed too "celebby" for William. As a result, this meant Harry dated some women in the public eye, from Ellie Goulding to Camilla Thurlow.
Harry is now back in the UK fighting another court battle with the newspapers, and it also happens to be six years since he and Meghan defiantly opted to leave the UK, so as all of that rolls around and we see their life from afar, we've looked back at the lives of his former flames.
Chelsy Davy
Chelsy Davy and Prince Harry dated for a long time, on and off from 2004 to 2011. He spoke about her in his book extensively and said she wasn't interested in his title, which was refreshing for him. They split up when she decided the highlighted life wasn't for her, which he said he understood because he wouldn't have picked it for himself either. Chelsy now lives a family life with her husband Sam Cutmore Scott and has two children, alongside her own businesses.
Caroline Flack
Prince Harry dated Caroline Flack in 2009 and praised her for not having a big ego because she "wasn't taken aback" that he didn't recognise her. However, the photos of the pair together sparked a frenzy, and while he continued to see her for a little while, he said they didn't feel "free" anymore and the relationship became tainted. Sadly, Caroline took her life in 2020, he said in his book, Spare: "She'd been so light and funny the night we met. The definition of carefree. It would've been impossible then to imagine this outcome."
Florence Brudenell-Bruce
Harry and Florence dated in 2011 after he heard positive things about her from friends, so they went on a date. He wrote in his book how he had been invited into her flat for a cup of tea, and he accepted and asked his bodyguard to drive around the block "a few hundred times". But their relationship came to an end after the paps discovered their relationship and she quickly rekindled her romance with an ex boyfriend, Henry St George, who she married, and they have one child together.
Cressida Bonas
Harry and Cressida Bonas dated for two years after meeting at a music festival. He said upon meeting her that there were instant sparks and they built an emotional bond, but he had realised they weren't meant to be. However, Harry did say there was "massive affection, deep and abiding loyalty - but not love everlasting." Cressida had also always made it clear to him that she didn't want to become a royal. She went on to marry Harry Wentworth-Stanley in 2020 and have two children.
Ellie Goulding
It was reported at the time that Prince Harry and Ellie Goulding started a romance after first meeting at Prince William's wedding in 2011. It wasn't until years later that it was reported to The Sun that Harry told friends "how much he likes Ellie", she was also close to Harry's cousin Eugenie. While their relationship wasn't addressed publicly, Ellie once said in an interview that talking about it would make her go bright red. Ellie was married to Caspar Jopling, and had one child with him, and is now pregnant with her second child with boyfriend Beau Minniear.
Camilla Thurlow
Prince Harry and Love Island star Camilla Thurlow reportedly dated before she went on the show, though she told her fellow islanders in a truth or dare challenge that a "lady never tells". But she later told The Sun that she didn't want her past relationships to influence a future with someone, and said she was very happy with her relationship with Jamie, whom she met on the show. Jamie told the publication that he wouldn't be intimidated by Harry. They went on to have three children.
