John steps into the shoes of Alfie Blake, a photographer who made his name in pop culture. He attempts to relive his glory days by recreating an iconic photograph of his long-lost muse, 1980s model Chelsea Meadows.

However, he is found murdered at the original photo shoot location.

John is most recognised for his roles as DI Robbie Ross in ITV's Taggart from 1990 to 2010 and Karl Munro in Coronation Street, as well as Guy Self in Holby City. Recently, John has appeared in London Kills, Ridley and Karen Pirie.

Amanda takes on the role of Alfie's former muse and model, Chelsea Meadows. She becomes a suspect when Jack and Kate locate her at the secluded farmhouse where she now resides with her housekeeper, who is hiding a secret.

Amanda is renowned for her portrayal of Connie Beauchamp in Holby City and Casualty from 2001 to 2021. Before her decade-long stint in the soaps, she featured in Grange Hill and Murphy's Mob.

Amanda also had a part in the film Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Olivia plays the character Pandora. Audiences may recognise Olivia from the 2019 film Fighting with My Family, where she portrayed Ellie. She has also had roles in Mood, Find Alice and Bulletproof. Olivia is also a regular voice on the BBC Radio 4 podcast The Archers.

The guest stars joins a regulat cast that includes Shayne Ward (Jack Grayling), Catherine Tyldesley (First Officer Kate Woods), Zak Douglas (Jamil Al-Rashid), Geoffrey Breton (Piers de Vreese), and Kiza Deen (Frankie Johnson).

Other members of the ensemble include Ross Adams (Colin Smallwood), Bex Smith (Cassie Grainger), Yuna Shin (Dr. Sharon Tan), and James Barriscal (Captain Richard Marlowe).

A synopsis reads: "In Crete, a pop-pioneer photographer, Alfie Blake, hopes to recapture the magic of his former years by recreating an iconic photograph of his long-lost muse, the model Chelsea Meadows, from the 1980s. But he is then found murdered, with his body discovered at the scene of the original photo shoot. Jack and Kate are on the case.

"Various suspects emerge. There is Alfie's manager and travelling companion, who stands to profit financially from Alfie's death. Also, Ari, the owner of a nearby taverna who has a chequered past with Alfie and who had clashed with him just before his demise. And then there is Chelsea herself, who Jack and Kate track to the remote farmhouse she now lives in with her housekeeper, who is harbouring a secret.

"Meanwhile, Kate's concerns about Marlowe continue to grow, and she shares with Piers that she has noticed unusual patterns in Marlowe's behaviour. Piers suggests they keep a close eye on it together.

"Also, a surprise inspection of the ship by the formidable Angela Boden from Head Office sends Colin's blood pressure soaring, and it emerges that Colin has a fraught history - as a ballroom dance partner - with Angela."

The Good Ship Murder continues on Channel 5 at 9pm on Tuesday, January 20.
