DRDO Hypersonic Missile LRASHM: An important achievement that will give new heights to India’s defense capabilities will be revealed to the world on January 26. The Long Range Anti-Ship Hypersonic Glide Missile (LRASHM) developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) will be displayed publicly for the first time in the 77th Republic Day Parade. This state-of-the-art missile is capable of hitting a range of approximately 1500 kilometers and will further strengthen India’s strategic position in the Indian Ocean region.
LRASHM has been specifically developed keeping in mind the requirements of the Indian Navy. This missile flies at hypersonic speed, that is, its speed is many times more than the speed of sound. Due to such high speed, it becomes extremely difficult for the enemy radar and air defense system to identify and stop it in time.
What is special in LRASHM?
This missile is capable of carrying a variety of payloads and can directly target the weapon systems of enemy ships deployed at sea. Its high speed and accuracy make it a very lethal weapon in maritime warfare. According to experts, LRASHM will significantly strengthen both the strike capability and sea control of the Indian Navy.
Project Director A. According to Prasad Gaud, DRDO is continuously working on hypersonic glide and hypersonic cruise missile technology. The display of LRASHM at the Republic Day Parade is an important step towards self-reliance in the defense sector in India and shows that the country is rapidly advancing in cutting-edge missile technology.
Special attraction of naval tableau
The tableau of the Indian Navy will also be the center of special attraction in the Republic Day Parade. It will showcase the ancient fifth century ship as well as the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant and other modern warships.
This year, 144 young sailors of the Navy marched, who were given special training for more than two months. This contingent has been selected from various states and union territories of the country, symbolizing the unity and diversity of the Indian Navy. This program on Republic Day will present India’s strategic strength, technological progress and modern capabilities of the Navy to the whole world.
