D2C kitchenware brand Cumin Co has bagged $5 Mn (around INR 41.5 Cr) in its pre-Series A funding round led by Fireside Ventures, along with participation from Huddle Ventures and Alteria Capital.

The funding round also saw participation from Atrium Angels, Mokobara cofounders Sangeet Agrawal and Navin Parwal, Tracxn cofounder Abhishek Goyal, among others.

The Gurugram-based startup plans to utilise the fresh capital to expand its R&D capacity, distribution channels as well as fuel talent acquisition.

“So, R&D, product expansion, channel expansion, brand and team are some of the pillars we plan to deploy this capital,” cofounder Niharika Joshi told Inc42.

Founded in 2024 by Joshi and Udit Lekhi, Cumin Co designs and manufactures kitchenware utensils, including cookware, bakeware, kitchen tools among others. It claims to have more than 102 SKUs on its website.

After doing research and taking early customer feedback on product prototype, the startup kickstarted commercial operations in February 2025. Lekhi told Inc42 that the startup leverages tech for coating its produce to ensure toxin-free utensil manufacturing. It has three patents on different types of coatings.

“We keep on enhancing the tech of the coating itself, and that allows us to create a surface unlock, which allows healthier options of cooking and long lasting options of cooking,” he said.

Currently, the startup sells its products via its own website as well as ecommerce platforms like Amazon. Going forward, the startup plans to expand its distribution channels by entering quick commerce as well as other marketplaces.

Prior to this round, the D2C startup had raised about $2 Mn in a seed funding round in August 2025 led by Fireside Ventures and Huddle Ventures.

On the financial front, the startup claims to have delivered 10X revenue growth within 8 months of launch.

As it looks to scale, Cumin Co is betting on proprietary coating technology and wider distribution to carve out space in India’s crowded kitchenware market.

The Indian kitchenware industry is booming on the back of innovations by D2C brands. The Indian kitchenware market is anticipated to cross the $10.8 Bn mark by 2033.

As a result, investors are backing startups in the segment to capitalise on this opportunity, Startups like Ember, Beyond Appliances, and BlackCarrot raised funding last year.
