Emma Raducanu's 2026 Australian Open campaign came to a disappointing end, as she found herself on the wrong side of an upset, losing in straight sets against Anastasia Potapova. It's a result that once again casts an unwanted spotlight on the Brit, who will be forced back to the drawing board.
Fellow Brit, Arthur Fery, also saw his campaign come to an end in the second round, having enjoyed a dream run all the way through qualifiers. He lost to Tomas Martin Etcheverry in straight sets, leaving Cameron Norrie as the last remaining British representative. There were no such issues for Carlos Alcaraz, who cruised through to round three, with Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic in second-round action on Thursday. Similarly, in the women's draw, all of the big hitters remain so far.
