M1 chaos as major motorway shuts after lorry bursts into flames

M1 motorists on a section of the motorway faced huge delays as firefighters worked to extinguish a lorry fire. National Highways said the northbound section between Junction 14 (Milton Keynes) and Junction 15 (Northampton) was closed following the incident.
The fire service rushed to the scene and worked to extinguish the blaze. National Highways warned drivers of potential delays and advised them to allow extra journey time if they are in the area. Footage from the scene shows huge traffic congestion on the impacted section of the motorway.
