An important update regarding admit cards has emerged for the millions of students appearing for the CBSE Board Exams in 2026. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to release the admit cards for Class 10th and 12th board exams in the first week of February 2026. The admit card is a mandatory document for entry into the examination hall and contains complete information about the examination center, date, and subjects. Once released, students will be able to download their admit cards online from the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in.
CBSE Board Exams 2026: Expected Date of Admit Card Release
The CBSE board releases admit cards on time every year before the board examinations. Based on the trend of previous years, the admit cards for Class 10th and 12th are usually made available approximately 20 to 25 days before the exams. In 2025, CBSE released the admit cards on February 3rd. Based on this, it is expected that the board may release the admit cards before February 10th in 2026 as well.
It is worth noting that admit cards for private candidates have already been released on January 19, 2026. Regular students will receive their admit cards through their schools or via the online portal.
CBSE Admit Card 2026: Download Process and Important Information
To download the admit card, students must first visit the official website cbse.gov.in. On the homepage, they will need to click on the link related to the Class 10 or Class 12 admit card. After that, they will have to enter their roll number or other requested information. Upon entering the correct details, the admit card will appear on the screen, which must be downloaded and printed.
The admit card contains important information such as the student's name, roll number, school, and exam center details, photograph, subject names and codes, exam dates, and date of birth. Entry to the examination center will not be permitted without the admit card on the day of the exam.
