×BJP Tamil Nadu election-incharge Piyush Goyal commenced a crucial meeting with AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami at the latter's Greenways residence here on Thursday, in a bid to drive the coalition's fight to defeat the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
The breakfast meeting which comes on the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Chennai to address a rally will see the NDA leaders present a show of strength to take on the ruling DMK combine in the state.
"It was an honour to visit and have breakfast with our leader of the AIADMK alliance in Tamil Nadu, Palaniswami. I brought with me the greetings and good wishes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and the good wishes of the newly elected BJP President Nitin Nabin," Goyal said.
Launching a sharp attack on the ruling party, Goyal alleged that the DMK government had failed to deliver on development and welfare. Describing the DMK as corrupt and compromised, Goyal said the government had neglected development and welfare, leaving Tamil Nadu worse off.
"A united and strong NDA will come to power in April and transform the future of Tamil Nadu. We will bring development, infrastructure and good governance. We will work for women, children, youth, fishermen, farmers and every section of society so that Tamil Nadu once again becomes a 'glorious' state. We will restore culture, Tamil pride, and make Tamil Nadu the number one state in India," he added.
