Prominent Shia leader Aga Hassan, who led one of the demonstrations in Budgam said the issues between the countries should be resolved through dialogue, which the United Nations has failed to do. He said the US has held the United Nations hostage.

The demonstrations were held in several Shia-dominated areas in Srinagar, Pulwama and Budgam districts of Kashmir, where slogans were raised against US, Israel and their leaders Donald Trump and Netanyahu.

They expressed solidarity with Iran's Supreme Leader, Syed Ali Khamenei and condemned the "protests" terming it as "external pressure" and "interference" against Iran by the US and Israel. They were carrying placards of Khamenei and blackened posters of Trump.

"People of Iran will defeat the designs of the US and Israel. We support the Iranian government and the Supreme leader..." said Aga Hassan at Budgam.
