Princess Anne has allegedly been having talks with her brother, King Charles and her nephew, Prince William, about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's "harsh" treatment, it has been claimed. The disgraced former Duke of York found himself with no titles and honours and lost the home he had had since 2003, Royal Lodge, following the furore regarding his links to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew was banished into humiliation and spent Christmas alone in Windsor, while the rest of the Royal Family were in Norfolk, attending the annual church service at Sandringham.

Despite denying all allegations against him, the former prince agreed to give up his lease on Royal Lodge and move to a much smaller property in the King's Sandringham Estate after it emerged that he had been paying "peppercorn" rent. Now, sources claimed that there are some members of the Royal Family who think Andrew was treated too "harshly" by the Firm, and they are no other than his other two siblings, the Princess Royal and the Duke of Edinburgh.

A source told the Daily Mail: "Anne has been vocal with both the King and William about Andrew's treatment.

"There are several arguments going on between Andrew and the King and between the King and the wider family - some of whom are convinced the King has treated his brother too harshly."

The source added: "It is easy to forget that Andrew has not been found guilty of anything and he denies all allegations."

They said that the King still holds the view that his brother is "innocent until proven guilty" and it "doesn't fit well" with him to have to treat the former Duke "as harshly as he has to in the circumstances".

But there are reportedly two royals who have a firm stance against Andrew - the Prince of Wales and Queen Camilla.

The source said: "William and Camilla take a harder line, which has caused a lot of family angst."

Removal vans have been spotted coming and going from Royal Lodge in Windsor, with Andrew's move expected to be imminent.
