Exciting Reveal of 'ASSI'

Mumbai, Jan 23: The anticipation surrounding the film 'ASSI' has finally culminated in the announcement that Taapsee Pannu will take the lead role in this compelling project directed by Anubhav Sinha.

On Friday, the production team released a motion poster that provides a thrilling preview of the film. Taapsee shared this on her Instagram, showcasing a scene where a girl is fleeing along railway tracks, pursued by three men. The poster prominently features the phrase 'An Urgent Watch,' concluding with a striking image of Taapsee's face covered in ink.

In her post, she expressed: 'It’s been long… Long since we normalized this….See you in court….I mean the theatres… #ASSI - an urgent watch, only in cinemas from 20th Feb.'

The film boasts a talented cast, including Revathy, Manoj Pahwa, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Kani Kusruti, Naseeruddin Shah, Seema Pahwa, and Supriya Pathak, among others.

Anubhav Sinha’s 'ASSI' confronts a pressing issue that we often overlook in our daily lives.

The promotional campaign kicked off two days ago with two text-only posters that generated a sense of foreboding: 'Eighty. Per Day. Every Day. ASSI,' along with the release date of February 20.

Another poster highlighted the film's writer as the highest-paid crew member, emphasizing the importance of writing in this project. This marks a unique approach, as it is rare for a film to announce its writer before the studio, director, producer, or cast.

'ASSI' is described as a gripping investigative thriller that unfolds through a powerful courtroom drama. As the narrative progresses, it prompts viewers to question their awareness of justice and the definition of culpability.

Produced by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series, 'ASSI' is a Benaras Mediaworks Production, directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Anubhav Sinha. The film is set to hit theaters worldwide on February 20.

Taapsee and Anubhav have previously collaborated on films like 'Mulk' and 'Thappad.'
