Wrexham have just over a week remaining to reshape their squad before the winter transfer window shuts. The deadline for the Red Dragons to finalise deals falls on Tuesday, February 2, at 7pm.
The Welsh side, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, are currently in the hunt for a Championship play-off position. Club bosses have confirmed that manager Phil Parkinson has been backed financially to bolster his squad as they pursue an unprecedented fourth successive promotion.
Wrexham have experienced a relatively quiet window so far, with no new faces arriving at the Racecourse Ground, despite spending £33million on signings last summer. Two players have departed so far, with club captain James McClean leaving to join his hometown side Derry City, while striker Jake Bickerstaff has completed a permanent switch to League Two outfit Cheltenham.

However, Parkinson will need to act swiftly if he wants to boost Wrexham's prospects of securing a coveted play-off berth. It would be a significant shock if a club with Wrexham's aspirations failed to bring in any reinforcements, with the futures of several existing squad members also needing clarity.
Here, Mirror Football looks at what their key priorities should be between now and the deadline.

Sidiki Cherif signsParkinson has acknowledged that the club are in ongoing talks with several potential signings as the January transfer window approaches its final days, though he's remained tight-lipped about specific targets. His remarks follow reports suggesting the Red Dragons are pursuing a club-record swoop for teenage striker Sidiki Cherif.
The 19-year-old, currently on the books at French outfit Angers, is allegedly the focus of a potential £19m deal that would eclipse Wrexham's existing transfer record. With four Ligue 1 goals to his name this season, Cherif represents exactly the type of dynamic attacking threat Wrexham require to convert narrow defeats into victories as they pursue a play-off spot.
Competition from Crystal Palace presents a considerable obstacle to any potential deal, though Wrexham's substantial financial resources mean the transfer can't be dismissed entirely. Form and momentum alone may prove not enough to sustain Wrexham through an arduous second half of the season.
An infusion of speed and goalscoring ability, preferably through securing a forward of Cherif's quality, appears increasingly vital if their play-off ambitions are to materialise.
Paul Mullin solution foundThere was a period when the prospect of Paul Mullin leaving Wrexham seemed virtually unthinkable. A popular figure with Reynolds and Mac, the frontman has become a figurehead for the club's journey up the football pyramid, featuring prominently in a remarkable sequence of three consecutive promotions from the National League to the Championship.
That situation changed following last winter's recruitment drive, when Parkinson bolstered his forward line with the signings of Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez. Mullin then found himself pushed to the margins and spent the early part of this season on loan at Wigan Athletic.
However, the League One side chose to terminate the arrangement prematurely, enabling the 31-year-old to return to the Racecourse Ground earlier this month. Parkinson has not yet made a final decision on Mullin's future, despite the striker appearing in a closed-door friendly against Liverpool last week.
With the January transfer window quickly approaching its end, the urgency to find a definitive solution has intensified and another temporary departure from Wrexham seems the most likely scenario.
Right wing-back arrivesOne position where Wrexham seem certain to reinforce is at right wing-back. Manchester City loanee Issa Kabore has impressed in that role when available this season.
Yet his recent spell on the sidelines through injury and his call-up to the Burkina Faso squad for the Africa Cup of Nations exposed Wrexham's shortage of options on the right flank. Swedish youngster Hampus Skoglund, who currently plays for Hammarby IF, has been touted as a potential arrival to address that void during the present window.
Sheffield Wednesday's Yan Valery is also reportedly on the radar as the financially strapped club looks to boost its coffers through player sales. Scottish heavyweights Rangers are among other clubs keen on snapping up Valery before the transfer window slams shut.
Elliot Lee set for exitMidfielder Elliot Lee could be on his way out, albeit temporarily. A pivotal figure in Wrexham's extraordinary triple-promotion run, Lee has been told that a January loan move is on the cards as he struggles to secure regular playing time.
The 31-year-old has yet to feature for Wrexham in the Championship this season. While manager Parkinson has disclosed that one potential move for Lee fell through, he remains hopeful that another deal can be struck before the transfer window closes.
Parkinson said: "Elliott has had a good week-and-a-half of training now. He wants to go on loan and get some game time so we respect that. There was a club which was very close to agreeing a deal and they've gone elsewhere for a different profile of player, but I'm sure there'll be other clubs looking at Elliot."
