As strange as this case of Nawada, Bihar seems, it is actually equally dangerous and shocking. Here a new method of cyber fraud has emerged, which has surprised both the police and the general public.

The fraudsters targeted the sentiments and needs of childless couples and launched a scam named "All India Pregnant Job Service".

This entire scheme was based on a false promise. Fraudsters used to call people and claim that they had the technology to make infertile women pregnant. In return, they would lure customers to earn up to Rs 10 lakh. He claimed that whoever helps a childless woman get pregnant will get a huge amount of money. Many people fell into this trap and deposited money as registration fees. According to the police, this gang especially targeted people who were either struggling with financial crisis or dreaming of earning quick money. They used to make big promises over the phone, make false claims and assure people that this work was completely legal and safe. Taking advantage of this trust, fraudsters cheated thousands to lakhs of rupees in the name of registration fees.

How the fraudsters were caught:

This entire fraud came to light when Nawada Police received a tip that a cyber fraud operation was going on in Manwa village of Hisua police station area. As soon as the information was received, a team was formed on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Abhinav Dhiman. The team acted swiftly and raided a house in Manwa village, where they caught two accused red-handed. One of the arrested people is a minor, while the other has been identified as Ranjan Kumar. Shocking revelations were made in the initial police interrogation. The accused confessed that they were duping people by calling them in the name of "All India Pregnant Job" and had already earned lakhs of rupees. The investigation also revealed that the fraudsters had targeted not only men but also childless women. Women were made to believe that pregnancy was possible with their special techniques. In return, money was taken from them in different installments. In many cases, women were so mentally affected that they felt hesitant even in filing a complaint despite being victims of fraud.

Mobile phones, chats and everything else recovered

Police have seized four mobile phones from the accused. A large number of call records, messages and suspicious chats are expected to be recovered from these phones. The cyber cell team is now examining these phones closely to find out how long this gang was active and how many people they had victimized. SP Abhinav Dhiman issued a press release saying that this is a very sensitive and serious case of cyber fraud. It has hurt people's sentiments as well as social and moral values. He said the police are trying to ascertain the number of victims and are also searching for other people associated with this network. A case has been registered against the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and IT Act, and further legal action has been initiated. Police said that if the investigation reveals any big network or connections to other districts, the scope of the investigation will be expanded.
