A tennis player from Croatia has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for three prohibited substances. Jana Fett, who reached a career-high world singles ranking of 97 in October 2017, submitted an in-competition sample while representing her country at last year's Billie Jean King Cup play-offs.
Subsequent analysis found that Fett's sample contained three banned substances, SARM Ostarine (S-22), a metabolite of LGD-4033, and metabolites of GW501516. Her 'B' sample was analysed earlier this month and the original findings were confirmed. As a result, the 29-year-old has been hit with a provisional suspension by the International Tennis Integrity Authority (ITIA).
In a statement, the ITIA said: "The substances are prohibited under the TADP in the categories of Other Anabolic Agents (Section S1.2) and Metabolic Modulators (Section S4.4) of the 2025 Prohibited List.
"As two of the substances are non-Specified substances, a mandatory provisional suspension is required. In Fett's case this has been in effect from 22 December 2025.
"Players have the right to appeal the imposition of their provisional suspension before an independent tribunal chair. To date, Fett has not appealed.
"While provisionally suspended, Fett is prohibited from playing in, coaching at, or attending any tennis event authorised or sanctioned by the members of the ITIA or any national association."
It means Fett won't be allowed to play at any tournaments under the banner of the ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Federation Francaise de Tennis, Wimbledon or the USTA.
She made her WTA Tour debut in 2017, reaching the semi-finals of the Hobart International where she was beaten by eventual champion Elise Mertens.
Fett took part in her first Grand Slam the following year, when she reached the main draw of the Australian Open. She defeated Misa Eguchi in the opening round but lost to Caroline Wozniacki in her next match.
She qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon in 2022 after three years of absence from the All England Club, eventually losing to Iga Swiatek.
The biggest title of her career arrived in 2024, when she won the Oeiras Open. Fett also competed at the French Open, entering the main draw as a lucky loser and reaching the second round.
