World No.6 Alex de Minaur has opened up on his upcoming wedding to British tennis star Katie Boulter in a light-hearted post-match interview with Jim Courier at the Australian Open. The Aussie is through to the fourth round at his home slam after beating Francis Tiafoe on Friday.

The 26-year-old reached the quarter-finals last year and is Australia's last remaining hope of winning a first Aussie Open male singles crown since Mark Edmondson in 1976. De Minaur has dropped just one set so far during this year's tournament at Melbourne Park and had no problems with dispatching America's Tiafoe 6-3, 6-4, 7-5, to set up a last 16 meeting with 10th seed Alexander Bublik on Sunday. He finished the match by signing the camera with 'Katie' and a love heart.

De Minaur and Boulter have been in a relationship for several years, emerging as one of the most prominent tennis couples. They announced their engagement in late 2024 as Boulter took to Instagram to show off her ring.

And former American tennis player, Courier, has asked De Minaur about the upcoming wedding when interviewing him on court after Friday's win over Tiafoe

He said: "You've already locked in a huge win this year - you're getting married at some point this year, congratulations to you and Katie. How involved are you planning to be in this wedding planning? Or are you going to leave it to Katie?"

De Minaur replied: "Are you doubting me, Jim?" To which Courier then said: "I'm definitely doubting you."

De Minaur then asked: "No, this is like a 50/50 relationship, right?" To which Courier replied: "You've not been married. You don't know. You're about to become a 49% shareholder of a really great company."

The Aussie then opened up on his relationship with Boulter. He said: "Honestly, the fact that we're both tennis players and we've both got quite a busy schedule, we are doing as much as we can together.

"Yeah, I've been involved so far in some of the decisions - I'm sure when it comes to details of like napkins and flowers and decoration purposes - that's not my forte, I'll leave that to Katie."

While De Minaur is going strong at this year's event - his fiancée fell at the first hurdle. Boulter was well beaten after going down 6-0, 7-5 to No.10 seed Belinda Bencic on Tuesday.

The Brit got into the main draw at Melbourne Park following several withdrawals, but only found out at the last minute.
