What happened suddenly among the dancing guests?
According to eyewitnesses, at the time of the attack the wedding guests were dancing and the atmosphere was completely happy. Then suddenly there was a huge explosion. The explosion was so powerful that the roof of the room where the wedding was going on collapsed. This created chaos on the spot and many people got buried under the debris. The rescue operation also faced a lot of problems due to the roof collapse. It was not easy to reach the injured due to the debris, due to which the lives of some people could not be saved.

Was it a suicide attack or some other conspiracy?
Dera Ismail Khan District Police Officer Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada clarified that it was a suicide bombing. The attack took place in the house of Peace Committee chief Noor Alam Mehsud near Qureshi Mor. Initial investigation confirmed that the attacker blew himself up during a wedding ceremony.
How quickly did the rescue team reach the spot?
According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Ahmed Faizi, seven ambulances, one fire brigade vehicle and one disaster relief vehicle were sent to the spot as soon as information about the incident was received. Were the members of the peace committee the target?
Initial reports said the dead included Peace Committee leader Wahidullah Mehsud, also known as Jigri Mehsud. This further strengthens the suspicion that this attack was specifically targeted at the Peace Committee.
Have such attacks happened before in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa?
This is not the first case. Earlier this month, four members of the peace committee were killed by armed attackers in Bannu district. In November 2025 also, the Peace Committee office was attacked in Bannu district, in which 7 people were killed.
How did the government and administration react?
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has strongly condemned the attack. He called for a complete report from the Inspector General of Police and said that the culprits would not be spared under any circumstances. But are even the personal happiness of common citizens no longer safe in Pakistan? Such terrorist attacks on private and family functions like weddings raise serious concerns over the internal security of the country.
