New Delhi. In Bihar Congress, the demand of Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi to separate from RJD is gaining momentum. All six MLAs of Bihar Congress also raised this demand in their meeting with Rahul Gandhi and National President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday in Delhi. According to the news of Dainik Hindustan, Congress MLAs told Rahul Gandhi and Kharge that they do not want to stay with Lalu-Tejashwi’s RJD. According to the newspaper, Congress MLAs also refuted the speculations that they were going to change sides. Recently, a JDU leader had claimed that all the six Congress MLAs will join his party.

Veteran Bihar Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed has also earlier raised the demand for separation of Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi from RJD. Earlier reports have come that even before the Bihar Assembly elections, Congress leaders of the state kept demanding to contest on their own. Despite his demand, Congress in Bihar did not take any step to separate from RJD. In the Bihar Assembly elections, Tejashwi Yadav kept claiming that this time the RJD-led grand alliance will gain power by removing Nitish Kumar from power, but the Bihar Assembly elections badly spoiled his claims.

The grand alliance suffered such a fate in the Bihar assembly elections that Lalu-Tejashwi’s party RJD could get only 25 seats. Whereas, it got 75 seats in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections. Similarly, this time only six Congress MLAs were elected in the Bihar Assembly elections. Earlier in 2020, 19 Congress MLAs were elected to the Bihar Assembly. In such a situation, along with RJD, Congress has also faced trouble in Bihar. Sources told the newspaper that the Congress high command has not yet decided to separate from Lalu-Tejashwi’s RJD. Some steps may be taken in this direction in the coming days.
