According to officials, local police received a shots fired call around 2:30 a.m. at a home located on Brook Ivy Court. When officers arrived at the scene, they found four adults inside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds. All victims, who were of Indian origin, were declared dead at the location.

Investigators revealed that the incident was domestic in nature and that three young children were present inside the home when the shooting began. Displaying remarkable presence of mind, the children reportedly hid together in a closet to protect themselves. Due to the quick emergency call, officers arrived while the suspect’s vehicle was still parked in the driveway. Later on Friday, the Gwinnett County Police identified the suspect as Vijay Kumar, a 51-year-old resident of Atlanta. He now faces multiple serious charges, including several counts related to aggravated assault, felony murder, malice murder, and cruelty to children across different degrees.

Police identified the victims as Kumar’s wife, Meemu Dogra, along with three other adults who were residents of the Lawrenceville area. Investigators stated that an argument reportedly began between the couple at their Atlanta home before they traveled with their 12-year-old child to the Lawrenceville residence, where the fatal shooting later occurred.
