Saturday, January 24 marks the 37 years since notorious serial killer Ted Bundy was executed via the electric chair, but he's not the only murderous miscreant to have faced an untimely death.
Gone before nature intended, some will believe justice was served whereas others may argue against the death penalty.

Ted Bundy
Prolific murderer Ted Bundy terrorised, raped and butchered young women in America during the 1970s, all the while putting on a civil facade as a decent member of society. He was executed via the electric chair at Florida State Prison on January 24, 1989.
John Wayne Gacy
Raping and killing at least 33 young men and boys, John Wayne Gacy - who would dress up as a clown for parties - ended up with the moniker "Killer Clown". He died by lethal injection on May 10, 1994, at Stateville Correctional Centre in Illinois.
Harvey Glatman
Known for his sadomasochistic sexual tendencies, the so-called "Glamour Girl Slayer" liked to tie up his victims, fondle and rape them, then photograph the scenes and kill them. Harvey was executed in a Californian gas chamber on September 18, 1959.
Aileen Wuornos
Prostitute Aileen Wuornos, the "Damsel of Death", murdered at least six of her male clients, first claiming self-defence, then admitting she shot them for their money. She died by lethal injection on October 9, 2002, at Florida State Prison.
Dubbed the "Freeway Killer", William Bonin would pick up young boys and men in his truck, rape and murder them, and dump their bodies along the freeways. The mass murdered died by lethal injection on February 23, 1996, at San Quentin State Prison, California.
