A section of the railway track used for freight trains near Sirhind in Punjab's Fatehgarh Sahib district has been found damaged, prompting police to investigate whether an explosion caused the damage. This information was confirmed by an officer from the Government Railway Police (GRP) on Saturday.
The officer noted that the damaged track was located approximately four to five kilometers from Sirhind station, near Khanpur village, and is exclusively utilized for freight trains.
When asked if the damage was due to an explosion, the officer stated that an investigation is ongoing, and a police team has visited the site. He also mentioned that a case has been registered under Section 150 of the Railway Act, which pertains to deliberately derailing a train or attempting to do so.
