Aldi shoppers are eager to snap up a new spin on the popular Dubai-style chocolate, this time coming in spreadable form. The phenomenally popular chocolate bar, which first went viral in 2023, is made with a pistachio-tahini cream and kadayif, a chopped filo pastry, filling coated in milk chocolate.

The consistency of the creamy filling varies from finely ground to a paste. Reports on its invention differ, with Fix Dessert Chocolatier’s creation the original iteration to first go viral though Nouel Catis Omamalin, a Filipino chef, and Sarah Hamouda, a British-Egyptian engineer, claim they invented the recipe in 2021.

The ferocious demand has sparked a string of similar products from famed companies like Lindt, Marks and Spencer, Lidl and more.

Aldi is no different, delighting shoppers with its version of the chocolate bar, alongside new products like its £1.99 ice cream and now, its Dubai-style spread by its in-house brand, Dairyfine.

Dairyfine is popular thanks to its vast array of budget-friendly chocolate bars, snacks, and treats, including Dairyfine Giant Buttons, Titan bars and Mini Eggs.

The Dubai-style pistachio chocolate spread is the latest product to offer fans an affordable way to further indulge in the popular flavours made famous online.

TikTok user Ell spotted countless jars of the new product in her local store and filmed a quick video which she shared on the popular social media platform.

It quickly racked up more than 842,000 views and hundreds of comments from enamoured shoppers keen to get their hands on the spread.

In the caption, Ell simply penned: “New Dubai chocolate spread in Aldi.. sounds so good”.

The official Aldi TikTok account commented: “Before anyone asks, yes you can just eat it with a spoon”.

Ell replied: “The best way”.

One TikTok user said: “It’s so good and it’s £3.99”.

Another asked: “Does it have the crunchy bits” to which Ell confirmed: “Yesss”.

A third confessed: “I have eaten a whole jar of that lol it’s so good”.

Someone else shared: “Currently eating this with a spoon”.

Another added: “It’s SO good”.

But some shoppers were disappointed it’s not available in their local stores - namely US citizens, who claim to be missing out on many of Aldi’s Dubai-chocolate inspired products.

One person said: “America needs to get with [it] already”.

Another said: “Why is the Aldi in the UK always better than the US. PLS BRING THIS TO THE US”.

A third commented: “The US NEEDS this asap! Please Aldi”

Another said: “Never in the US [shaking my head]”.

But someone else offered a different perspective and joked: “Good thing this isn’t in the USA otherwise they’d be sold out [nationally] and internationally”.

Another unhappy customer lamented: “We don’t have the Dubai chocolate ice cream either”.
