I met Brooklyn Beckham last year - here's why I think wedding feud is a PR stunt

Brooklyn Beckham released a scathing statement about his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, earlier this week. He dropped a few bombshells - many of which seemed to revolve around his wedding to wife Nicola Peltz, which happened all the way back in 2022.

But here's the thing - I spoke to Brooklyn Beckham in March 2025. That's almost three years after his wedding day, and at that time, he had nothing but love and gratitude for his parents. In the panel interview, where Brooklyn was gearing up to take part in Formula E's Evo sessions, he told a number of journalists that his dad, David Beckham, was his "sporting hero". He also shared that both of his parents were concerned for his safety in his latest venture, but ultimately, they supported him. He told us: "My dad was just like 'be careful', but obviously it's something that me and my dad have bonded over that, over the years. You know, we're both into cars and both into racing so he was really excited and yeah, he just said to be careful and have fun. My mum was exactly the same, she was like 'be careful but have fun'."

So why suddenly turn against them now? It's simple. One thing that Brooklyn was completely truthful about in the statement was that the Beckham family are a brand.

And now, this 'feud' is giving the family brand a boost. They do always say "all publicity is good publicity", right? And negative news sells.

The Beckhams have been in the media's eye for decades now, so if anyone would know this, it would be them - and they're clearly using it to their advantage.

Maybe, and this is just a theory, since Brooklyn moved Stateside, he simply doesn't have the time or want to put in the effort to be flying back and forth from his parents' London home all of the time.

He also stated in his Instagram bombshell that he and Nicola were actually in the UK for his dad's 50th birthday. But apparently were "rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him."

He continued: "He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner."

But of course, eagle-eyed fans will pick up on any moments of him and his wife "missing" from family gatherings, no matter how big or small. So was this planned to cause a stir?

It may have taken the family all this time to decide what to do to utilise the criticism and the suspicion. And that's why I think they are now using it completely to their advantage and coming up with the ultimate press stunt.
