Uttar Pradesh: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday set the tone for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s political campaign ahead of the next Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections by urging voters to support the ruling party and reject what he described as dynastic politics. Addressing a gathering in the state capital during celebrations marking Uttar Pradesh’s 77th foundation day, Shah highlighted the transformation of the state since 2017 and credited the BJP-led governments at both the Centre and the state for driving development and stability.

Appeal To Voters Ahead Of Election Year

Speaking to a large audience, Amit Shah called upon the people of Uttar Pradesh to rise above caste-based politics and vote decisively in favour of the BJP. He said the state has repeatedly shown political maturity in recent elections and would once again have to make a crucial choice in the coming Assembly polls. According to Shah, the upcoming election will be a defining moment for the future direction of Uttar Pradesh and the country as a whole.

Criticism Of Dynastic Politics

Shah strongly criticised opposition parties, including the Indian National Congress, the Samajwadi Party, and the Bahujan Samaj Party, accusing them of promoting dynastic politics. He argued that such parties focus more on family interests than on public welfare and long-term development. According to him, voters should completely reject these political models and instead support a party that prioritises governance, transparency, and inclusive growth.

Transformation Of Uttar Pradesh Since 2017

Highlighting the changes witnessed in the state over the last seven years, Shah said Uttar Pradesh was once labelled a BIMARU state, a term historically used to describe regions lagging behind in development. He claimed that this image has changed significantly after the BJP formed the government in 2017. Shah described Uttar Pradesh as the growth engine of the country and noted that it has now become a revenue surplus state, contributing actively to national economic progress.

Role Of Double-Engine Government

The Home Minister credited the turnaround to what he referred to as the double-engine government, pointing to coordination between the Centre led by Narendra Modi and the state government headed by Yogi Adityanath. He said improved law and order, better infrastructure, and focused welfare delivery have been key factors behind the state’s progress. According to Shah, consistent policy implementation and strong leadership have helped Uttar Pradesh overcome long-standing challenges.

Call For Third Consecutive Term

Shah appealed to voters to ensure that the BJP returns to power with a full majority for a third consecutive term in the 2027 Assembly elections. He stated that continuity in governance is essential for sustaining development, ensuring opportunities for youth, and maintaining national security. Addressing the public, he said that a strong mandate would allow the government to accelerate reforms and complete ongoing projects without disruption.

Uttar Pradesh’s National Role

Emphasising the historical importance of the state, Shah said Uttar Pradesh has always played a crucial role in safeguarding the nation. Recalling past elections in 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2022, he noted that the people of the state consistently supported the BJP, enabling stable governments at both state and national levels. He added that the next election would again require voters to choose a path that supports development, security, and good governance.

Message To The Electorate

Concluding his address, Shah said welfare-oriented governance can only be ensured through the BJP, asserting that opposition parties lack the vision and capability to deliver long-term benefits to the people. He urged citizens to reflect on the progress made so far and vote with an eye on the future of Uttar Pradesh and the country.
