JEE Advanced: The JEE Advanced exam pattern may change. The central government is preparing for this. The new pattern will include aptitude questions along with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. According to reports, under the supervision of the Joint Admission Board (JAB), a committee of IIT experts, chaired by Professor Manindra Agarwal, Director of IIT Kanpur, will develop a roadmap for JEE Advanced reforms within six months. Following this, the action plan will be implemented in a phased manner based on pilot results and analysis.
According to the report, like JEE Main, JEE Advanced will also be conducted three to four times a year. Currently, it is held only once a year. There are also plans to conduct the exam over multiple days in different slots.
Fewer PCM Questions
The JEE Advanced exam currently consists of questions in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The new pattern will include aptitude questions. If this happens, the number of PCM questions may decrease. The purpose of including aptitude questions is to assess the student's logical ability, mathematical skills, and problem-solving capabilities. This will make the challenging exam slightly easier. The new pattern aims to emphasize critical thinking and skills rather than just subject knowledge.
Why the need to change the pattern?
The National Education Policy recommends reducing the stress associated with examinations. Therefore, the pattern is being changed. This will reduce students' dependence on coaching centers. It is worth noting that there are approximately 19,000 seats in the IITs, and around 1.5 to 2 lakh students appear for the exam.
