Makhana Tikki Recipe
Step 1- To make Makhana Tikki, first soak half a cup of green moong dal in water for 2-3 hours. Take 2 tbsp gram flour and grind 1 cup makhana. Among the vegetables, take half cup grated carrot, half cup grated bottle gourd, 1 finely chopped green chilli, 1 teaspoon grated ginger, 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder, half teaspoon black pepper, half teaspoon garam masala, salt as per taste and some lemon juice.

Second step- Drain the water from soaked moong dal and grind it coarsely. The dal has to be prepared like a thick, slightly granular paste. Now

Mix all the chopped vegetables, gram flour and makhana powder in the lentil paste. Pour into a bowl, add the spices and mix well until it becomes a soft, dough-like consistency.

Third step- Divide the mixture into equal parts and prepare round tikkis from it. Add one spoon of oil to a non-stick pan and cook them on low flame. Keep turning the tikkis occasionally, until both sides become crisp. Eat prepared Makhana Tikki with sauce or chutney.
