Who is Ursula von der Leyen?
Ursula von der Leyen was born on 8 October 1958 in Brussels. She is a Belgian-born popular leader of German politics and is also Germany's first female Defense Minister and the first female President of the European Commission. He initially studied economics, but later decided to become a doctor and obtained a medical degree from Hanover Medical School in 1987. She is the mother of 7 children and has played an important role in her family as well as in global leadership.
Career beginning and political journey
Ursula joined the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in 1990. In 1996 he began active participation in the politics of Lower Saxony. Gradually she played an important role in the leadership of the party and in 2005 became the Minister of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth in Germany. During his tenure, daycare facilities for children were expanded and parental leave for working parents was implemented. This deal will yield an estimated benefit of Rs 43 thousand crore and will open employment opportunities for lakhs of people.
