The Bihar Police Sub-ordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has started accepting applications for vacant posts of Sub-Inspector Prohibition from today, January 27th. Candidates preparing for government jobs in the police department can apply online through the official BPSSC website, bpssc.bihar.gov.in. The last date for application is February 27, 2026.

Eligibility and Criteria
To apply for the Bihar SI posts, the candidate must be an Indian citizen. The applicant must have a graduate degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution/university. The minimum age is 20 years, while the maximum age is 37 years for general male candidates, 40 years for Backward Classes and women, and 42 years for SC/ST candidates. The age will be calculated as of August 1, 2025.

Physical Standards
The minimum height for General and Backward Class candidates is 165 cm, and the chest measurement should be 81 cm (unexpanded) and 86 cm (expanded).
For Extremely Backward Class, SC, and ST candidates, the minimum height is 160 cm, and the chest measurement should be 79 cm (unexpanded) and 84 cm (expanded).
Female candidates must have a minimum height of 155 cm and a minimum weight of 48 kg.

Visit the official website bpssc.bihar.gov.in to fill out the Bihar SI Application Form 2026.
On the homepage, click on the Application Link under the Prohibition Dept. - Ref.: Advt. No.-03/2026: Apply Online for the Post of Sub-Inspector Prohibition in Prohibition, Excise & Registration Dept., Govt. of Bihar.
Then, on the new page, click on the Register and Make Payment link.
Fill in the required details to register and pay the prescribed fee.
After that, fill out the application form in Step 2. In Step 3, check the application status by clicking on "View Application Status" and take a printout for your records.

All candidates, regardless of category, are required to pay a fee of ₹100 along with the application form for this recruitment. The fee can be paid online. A total of 78 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment process.
