Union Budget GST Relief: Before the arrival of the General Budget 2026-2027, businessmen from various sectors have put forward their important demands before the government. Regarding the Union Budget GST, traders believe that it is necessary to reduce the prices of medicines and gold. Health and business experts have strongly advocated tax reforms to strengthen the economy. The main objective of these suggestions is to reduce the burden on the common man’s pocket and make services accessible.

improvement in health services

Medicine Traders Association President Rajendra Aggarwal has urged the government to set a clear limit to control the expenditure on health services. According to him, there is a huge difference in the prices of medicines in the market, where a medicine worth Rs 8 is being sold for up to Rs 150 in the open market. He suggested that price capping be done on every medicine and doctors’ fees should be determined according to their degree.

relief on gold and silver

Bullion traders have expressed concern over the rising prices of gold jewelery and are expecting special relief from the government in the upcoming budget. Uday Soni has demanded that the current 3 percent GST on gold and silver should be reduced to 2 percent or halved. He says that the bullion industry is dependent on labour, hence the GST imposed on the wages of artisans should be completely abolished.

increasing effect of inflation

Businessman Mehtab Alam said that due to rising inflation, buying gold has become like a dream for a poor person today. He gave the example that earlier marriages were solemnized for one lakh rupees, but now it is difficult to get even one tola of gold for that amount. In the budget, he has strongly advocated for reducing GST rates on gold as well as house building materials.

education and tax policy

Trader Nawab Qureshi criticized the current tax policies of the government and said that the people are already facing severe inflation and economic crisis. He said that 18 percent GST is being imposed on education, which is a huge economic burden on the common man’s access to education. According to Qureshi, despite claims of reducing tax on notebooks and pencils, the public has not received any real relief on the ground.

Corruption and anomalies

Traders have also expressed serious concern over the irregularities prevailing in the health department and have demanded strict steps to be taken for reforms at the administrative level. He believes that unless departmental corruption and anomalies are removed, the benefits of government schemes will not reach the general public. This budget should live up to the expectations of businessmen and the general public so that inclusive development of the country can be ensured.
