T20I Rankings Update: Ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, defending champion India’s star players have received a big boost in the rankings. Many big names of the team have made their place in the latest update of the ranking. Opener Abhishek Sharma has further increased his lead at the top of the rankings for T20I batsmen. Whereas captain Surya Kumar Yadav has returned to the top-10.

India’s left-handed batsman Abhishek Sharma has extended his lead at the top to 80 rating points after scoring two half-centuries in the first two matches of the ongoing five-match series against New Zealand. Abhishek’s rating of 929 points is just two less than his career-high rating of 931, which he achieved during last year’s Asia Cup. England opener Phil Salt (849 rating points) is still his nearest challenger, while Tilak Verma (781) is at number three.
Suryakumar Yadav has moved up five places to number seven after his inning of 57* in the third T20I against the Black Caps in Guwahati. Hardik Pandya (up one place to third) and Shivam Dubey (up six places to 11th) have made it to the latest rankings for T20I all-rounders. Star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has moved up four places to 13th in the latest rankings for bowlers, while Varun Chakravarthy remains on top with three wickets in the first two matches of the series.
