Karna was surrounded by conflicts since birth
Karna was born from the womb of unmarried Kunti. Due to fear of public shame, Kunti abandoned the newborn Karna, due to which he neither got respect nor his real rights in the society throughout his life. He was insulted because he was called Sutaputra, even though he was not only equal to Arjuna but at times even more valiant warrior. This is the reason why the story of Mahabharata is considered incomplete without Karna.
Example of promise, sacrifice and great donation
Karna was not only a great warrior but was also unique in keeping his promises. He had promised his mother Kunti that he would not shoot arrows at any other Pandava except Arjun. Apart from this, the charitable Karna even donated his armor and earrings on Indra's request, even though he knew that these were the biggest means of his protection.
Mother's unfulfilled wish after the war
Many years after the Mahabharata war ended, Kunti was left with the pain of seeing her son Karna for the last time. With this desire, Kunti reached Maharishi Vedvyas and requested him to see Karna. Hearing Kunti's distress, Vedavyas consoled her and organized a special ritual.

On the appeal of Maharishi Vedvyas, everyone gathered on the banks of Ganga. At night, all the warriors killed in the Mahabharata war appeared on the banks of the Ganges due to the chanting of Vedavyas. At the same divine moment, Karna also appeared there and was reunited with his mother Kunti. This union was only for one night, but it soothed the greatest sorrow of Kunti's life.
Meaning of the story
This incident shows that no matter how much insult one has to endure in life, truth, sacrifice and compassion are never destroyed. Karna's resurrection is considered a symbol of mother-son relationship, repentance and salvation.
