New Delhi: A video released by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on the occasion of Republic Day has once again fueled speculation about Pakistan’s Kirana Hills area. Following the precision strike and aerial footage shown in this video, questions are being raised about whether Indian fighter jets had attacked places in or around Kirana Hills.
IAF video sparks debate
The IAF put out a video on Republic Day that reportedly shows Pakistan’s nuclear base in Sargodha getting hit. It also has the footage of Indian jets, Rafale, Sukhoi, Jaguar and Tejas, and the words “the enforcers of peace”. Notably, India attacked terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Territories in Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam terror attack in 2025 that killed 26 innocent civilians in Kashmir.
The Kirana Hills, located near Pakistan’s Sargodha region, are considered a highly sensitive area, close to Pakistan’s nuclear infrastructure. Therefore, the scenes shown in the IAF video are considered significant. In fact, such questions had arisen even just after Operation Sindoor.
India’s official stand: No hit on Pak nuclear base
At the briefing on the operation at that time, the then Director General of Air Operations, Air Marshal A.K. Bharti, gave a clear answer to these speculations, neither confirming nor denying them. Even after the new video surfaced, defence sources say the Indian Air Force’s official stance remains the same. No new information or clarification has been provided on the issue.
Officials have reiterated that India stands by its earlier statements on the scope and objectives of Operation Sindoor. However, this video, released on Republic Day, has once again intensified the discussion in strategic circles and has brought forward fresh questions regarding Kirana Hills. However, despite the new video raising several questions, India’s official stance still remains that the IAF did not attack the nuclear installations of Pakistan during Operation Sindoor.
