Homemade Bhringraj Oil: Bhringraj is called “Keshraj” in Ayurveda, i.e. king of hair. Bhringraj has been used since ancient times to cure hair problems like fall, dandruff, weakening of hair and premature graying. The oils available in the market often contain chemicals, whereas home made Bhringraj oil is completely natural and safe. Ingredients for making Homemade Bhringraj Oil
Fresh Bhringraj leaves or Bhringraj powder, coconut oil or sesame oil, aloe vera gel (optional), amla (optional), kadhai or thick bottomed pan and clean cloth for straining.
Method of making Bhringraj oil
If you are using fresh Bhringraj leaves, first wash them thoroughly, dry them and then grind them coarsely. Now add coconut or sesame oil in the pan and heat it on low flame. Add ground Bhringraj to it and cook slowly. When the color of the oil starts turning dark green or black and the Bhringraj is completely cooked, then turn off the gas. When it cools down, filter the oil and fill it in a glass bottle.
If using powder, follow the same procedure, just add the powder to oil and cook well on low flame.
Special tips for making Bhringraj oil
Always cook oil on low flame, high flame can destroy the nutrients of the oil. If you want more effect then you can also add Amla or Aloe Vera gel to it. Let the oil cool completely before filtering, so that there is no moisture left in it. Oil kept in a glass bottle remains safe for a long time.

Uses of Bhringraj Oil
two to three times a week Bhringraj Massage lightly with oil. After applying oil, you can leave it for at least an hour or overnight. Wash it with mild shampoo. If you want, you can also add this oil to hair mask. This oil is considered safe even for children and the elderly.
Precautions while using Bhringraj oil
Do a patch test before applying the oil, especially if your skin is sensitive. Do not use if there are wounds, allergies or severe infection on the scalp. Always keep the oil in a clean and dry bottle, so that it does not get spoiled. Be patient before using any Ayurvedic remedy regularly, because its effect becomes visible gradually.
